She Came Darkly

She came darkly 
with grave intent
eyes black as coal
to take my soul

She came darkly 
to rip my heart
to take her fill
tear love apart

She came darkly
to bite my flesh
to break my spirit
her dark intent

She came darkly
to force my hand 
 And I just let her
I made no stand

I watched her feast
inside my chest
I watch as blood
dripped down her neck

And I was glad
she put to rest
this tired life
that I detest

For she is darkly
grave with sin
and I would gladly
love again
